  • Running and walking

Currently, I am fascinated by Caminos.

I am not at all religious, I just enjoy following Pilgrim routes that go from and to interesting places.

I feel that long distance walking compliments my running fitness.

Recently, I completed the Saint Swithuns’ Way over 3 days, New Alresford to Winchester, New Alresford to Alton, Alton to Farnham.

Each leg ended up being about a half marathon distance so, I have logged it all with TrainAsONE.

Running has taken a back seat for now, I do the odd session now and then, just to prove that I can hold pace and run fast but generally I have become a dawdler.

I can still maintain a good ultra race trot pace in the 11 min/mile zone should I ever feel the urge to take on another big challenge but, my next actual race is next years Faversham Half Marathon.

I bumped into my friend Jack on the bus the other day and we had a good chat. My lack of appearances at parkrun was mentioned so I will probably just show up somewhere random nearer Christmas.

I no longer have any Garmin or Strava accounts as I have decided to keep all my health data private until such time that I choose to share it.

As it’s now autumn it’s time to get out the base layers and wet weather gear as I have no desire to stop.

Best foot forward, even when it’s wet.
